a luxury bedroomAccording to Realtor Mag Online, there are six surefire ways that home sellers can turn off home buyers quicker than anything.  Below is the list, but be sure to check out the article.  If your home is currently on the market, you may need to take a good, long, hard look at your home to make sure that you aren’t make any of these faux pas.

If your home is not yet on the market, you’ve still got time to make sure that prospective home buyers are greeted at the door with:

  1. A sense of cleanliness
  2. Pleasant or neutral odors (don’t overdo fragrances of any kind)
  3. Updated fixtures such as lighting and switches for example
  4. Wallpaperless walls or at most, wallpaper border instead of outdated paper from years gone by
  5. Smooth walls and ceilings and
  6. Few to no personal items (it just makes them not want to move you out of your beloved home)
