Marketing Expired Listings

Wake Up and Smell the Sold Listing

I know discouragement has set in because your listing has expired and there is no prospect in sight (that is that you know of).

Expired Listings Can Be Sold

When I talk to sellers of expired listings and I ask why they think their home didn’t sell, the answer is ALWAYS the same:  our agent says it’s the market.  And my answer is always the same:  I’m sorry but given that homes are selling every day of the week, I am not convinced that the “market” is the reason homes don’t sell.

True enough, it is a tough and very competitive market, but all that really means is that you are in need of

  • a tough and competitive agent with the right mix of skill,
  • mobility
  • creativity
  • marketing know-how
  • market knowledge
  • great negotiating skills
  • as well as the ability to be truthful in such a way that might pinch a bit, but won’t hurt.
  • an exhaustive Internet, social media and blogging footprint
  • an exhaustive Internet, social media and blogging footprint and finally
  • an exhaustive Internet, social media and blogging footprint

Your agent’s strengths and attributes in conjunction with a properly priced and well prepared home is a combination that spells SOLD.
